QUIQSIM DESTINATIONS HOW HELP

How eSIM coverage works

QuiqSim provides travel eSIM data in 200+ countries through the Airalo carrier-partner network — the same global eSIM infrastructure that powers most reputable travel-data providers. Coverage works in destinations where Airalo has a local-carrier partnership; this includes virtually every country with a functional mobile network.

Footnote: this is general information about country coverage. Specific destination pages (linked below) give country-specific carrier details, cross-border patterns, and traveler-relevant coverage notes.

How coverage works

Travel eSIMs are sold per-country or per-region. When you buy a QuiqSim eSIM for a destination, your phone connects to that country's local carriers through Airalo's roaming partnerships. You see local 4G/5G speeds, local coverage maps, local cellular density — exactly like a domestic resident's phone would experience (with rare exceptions for carrier-specific networks).

This means coverage quality in each country = coverage quality of that country's carrier network. In Japan or South Korea, that's excellent everywhere. In rural Mongolia or the Amazon basin, that's variable. QuiqSim doesn't create the cellular network; it gives you access to the local one.

Regional coverage summary

Europe (40+ countries)

Schengen Area + EU: full coverage. Same eSIM bundle works across all Schengen states (Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, etc.). The Airalo Schengen-region partner network treats the zone as one coverage area.

UK + Ireland: covered (separate bundles from Schengen post-Brexit).

Switzerland + Liechtenstein: covered via Schengen-region bundle.

Iceland: covered via Schengen-region bundle.

Microstates: Monaco (via France), San Marino + Vatican (via Italy), Andorra (separate bundle), Liechtenstein (uses Swiss carrier networks).

North America

USA + Mexico + Canada: covered. Each has its own eSIM bundle.

Central America (Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama): all covered with per-country bundles.

Caribbean (Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Bahamas, Barbados, Trinidad, Aruba, Curaçao, etc.): most covered with per-island bundles. Cuba currently NOT served (US OFAC + EU sanctions restrictions). Haiti has variable carrier infrastructure.

South America

Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname: all covered with per-country bundles.

Galápagos Islands: SEPARATE Airalo telecoms zone from mainland Ecuador. Travelers visiting both need to confirm Galápagos-zone bundle separately.

Middle East + Gulf

UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Israel: all covered with per-country bundles. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries share an Airalo Gulf-region partner network — same bundle continues working seamlessly across GCC overland routes.

Iran, Syria: NOT served (international sanctions + regulatory restrictions).

Asia

East Asia: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR — all covered (Hong Kong + Macao on separate SAR-specific bundles).

Mainland China: variable. Foreign-traveler eSIM in mainland China faces Great Firewall + carrier-specific restrictions. Use a Hong Kong eSIM with roaming OR a global eSIM bundle that explicitly supports mainland China.

Southeast Asia: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei — all covered.

South Asia: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives — all covered.

Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan — all covered with per-country bundles.

Mongolia: covered.

North Korea: NOT served (tourism restrictions + carrier-network unavailability).

Oceania

Australia + New Zealand: covered with per-country bundles.

Pacific Islands: Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, French Polynesia (Tahiti + Bora Bora), Cook Islands, Solomon Islands — most covered. Some smaller atolls and remote islands may have limited or no coverage at all (no carrier infrastructure).

Africa

West Africa: Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Cape Verde — most covered.

East Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, South Sudan — most covered.

Southern Africa: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique — covered.

Indian Ocean Islands: Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros, Réunion (France) — covered (Réunion via French EU bundle).

Sanctioned + restricted destinations (NOT served)

For these destinations, message QuiqSim and we may suggest a nearby supported alternative OR direct you to consult local carriers in those regions directly.

How to confirm coverage for your specific destination

The fastest way: message QuiqSim through WhatsApp with your destination. The chat picker confirms coverage availability before you pay; you cannot buy an eSIM for an unsupported destination.

Common coverage questions

Does my eSIM cover the entire country I'm visiting? Yes — within the limits of that country's domestic carrier coverage. Cities and populated regions: excellent. Rural areas: depends on the country's carrier network density. Remote wilderness (Patagonia, Outback, Sahara, Amazon, Siberia, Himalayan trekking above ~3,500m): variable; expect signal drops where domestic carriers don't reach.

What if I'm traveling to multiple countries on one trip? Two options. Single-country eSIM per destination (most economical for clear single-country trips). Regional bundle (Schengen, GCC, Latin America, Asia) that covers multiple countries with one eSIM. Message QuiqSim with your itinerary; the chat picks the right structure.

Do cross-border crossings affect my eSIM? For destinations within the same regional bundle (Schengen, GCC, etc.), no — your eSIM keeps working seamlessly. For cross-region travel (e.g., Mexico → USA, or Japan → South Korea, or Spain → Morocco), each country is its own Airalo telecoms zone; you'll need separate bundles or a multi-country bundle covering both.

Does my eSIM work on cruise ships or international flights? No. Cruise ships use maritime satellite networks (separate billing, expensive). Most international flights don't offer cellular service in-flight (some carriers offer paid WiFi via separate provider). Your eSIM resumes working when you land in a covered country.

Does my eSIM work in remote wilderness (Antarctica, deep Amazon, Saharan deep desert)? Antarctica: no — no commercial carriers anywhere on the continent (satellite-only). Deep Amazon, Saharan interior, central Australian Outback, Himalayan summit pushes: variable; mostly no coverage at remote sites. Coverage works where domestic carriers reach; remote wilderness rarely has either.

Does my eSIM work at country borders or crossing-point cities? Yes — coverage works at border crossings within whichever country's network is providing your eSIM signal. If you cross into a new country mid-trip, your phone may pick up the destination country's carriers briefly, but if your eSIM bundle doesn't cover that country, you'll lose data until you return to a covered region OR add a new eSIM bundle.

Does coverage change if I top up my eSIM mid-trip? No. Topping up adds data to the same bundle on the same country (or region). Coverage scope stays identical.

What happens if my eSIM doesn't connect in a destination it should cover? Three quick checks: (1) is the eSIM activated (the phone shows "QuiqSim" or carrier name in cellular settings)? (2) is data roaming enabled for the eSIM line in your phone settings? (3) is your destination on the supported list? If all yes and still no connection, message QuiqSim WhatsApp support — most cases resolve in a few minutes.
